This specific combination of hex openings makes this die one of the most popular configurations for RF technicians. The larger .213” and .255” cavities are perfectly scaled to crimp the outer grounding ferrules of highly common mid-sized coaxial cables, including RG-58, RG-59, RG-62, and low-loss LMR-195 / LMR-240 equivalents. Simultaneously, the smaller .043”, .068”, and .100” cavities provide the precise tolerances required to compress the delicate center conductor contacts and smaller sleeves of SMA, Type N, TNC, and BNC connectors.
