This commercial-grade, high-performance Surge Arrestor / Lightning Protector features a precision Type N Male connector on one end and a Type N Female connector on the other. Engineered to operate across a broad RF frequency spectrum up to 7 GHz, this inline component is designed to protect sensitive radio and network equipment from destructive voltage transients, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and indirect lightning strikes that can travel down coaxial transmission lines. It is an ideal solution for shielding sub-6 GHz 5G networks, cellular base stations, Wi-Fi systems, and outdoor antenna installations.
Utilizing an advanced, high-speed gas discharge tube (GDT) or a specialized quarter-wave stub mechanism, the protector acts as a high-impedance barrier under normal operational conditions, allowing high-frequency RF signals to pass through with minimal insertion loss and exceptional voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The moment a high-voltage surge or transient spike is detected on the line, the internal mechanism rapidly fires, diverting the destructive excess electrical energy safely to the ground via an integrated grounding screw or bulkhead nut. This preserves the operational integrity of downstream components like access points, receivers, and sensitive test instruments.
